When we speak about director Ezhil, his first phase of directorial journey has been pretty much different from what he has been doing now. His films based on emotional bonding and family relationships were highly acclaimed and are still regarded as few among the best all time entertainers. Apparently, the filmmaker took a surprising leap from such paradigms and his comeback with ‘Manam Kothi Paravai’ starring Sivakarthikeyan was illustrative of it. Aftermath the success, he delivered three back to back hits movies – Desingu Raja, Vellaikaara Durai and Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran.
His upcoming film ‘Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen’ has the trailer launched and let us looks into its analysis.
The theatrical trailer has a running length of 2 minutes 24 seconds and all that we are able to grasp is that it’s going to be yet another family entertainer laced with fun and humour. Moreover, the screen presence of Udhayanidhi Stalin seems to have been slightly escalated from his erstwhile movies. Of course, his previous couple of movies ‘Gethu’ and ‘Manithan’, were based on different genres and he seems to have purposely opted for a comedy caper. Regina Cassandra looks too normal and we aren’t sure how far she is going to contribute towards the film. Maybe, the glamorous quotients we do see in the songs might be a grasping element for the rural audiences. Nevertheless, the presence of comedians – Mansoor Ali Khan, Soori, Chaams, Yogi Babu and many more in the league offers us a clear scenario that there is going to be plenty of fun and humour filled up here.
Although, there is a slightest tint by the opening shot, where there could be some ghost elements, but this isn’t going to be the complete backdrops of the movie.
The cinematography laced with over colourful tint has seemingly could have been the intention of Ezhil, who had a similar tone for Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran. The songs that we get to hear in glimpses are quite okay, but might not be a Chartbuster, which has to be decided with the musical analysis.
Overall, the theatrical trailer of ‘Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen’ is all about giving us assumptions that not to bother too much about the story and logics, but just a clear-cut time pass entertainer.
If released for the summer season, it could have its realms with the family audiences, especially across the sub-urban and rural zones.
