When big tickets are involved in the production, it gradually pulls forth the attraction of audiences and groups beyond our regional boundaries. Be it Rajinikanth’s 2.0 or Kamal Haasan’s Sabaash Naidu, things have shot up high on sky-rocketing graph of expectations. But then, with lots of excitements and expectations hooking upon the project, there seems to be few things involved on the flip side as well. It’s majorly technical aspects and sometimes the issues that pop up from the external sources.
The film was supposed to be released by last December, but then lots of external factors like Demonetization, turmoil in political affairs, the cyclonic disasters kept the movie from the predestined release. Apparently, it couldn’t make its way for the festive occasion of Pongal as Vijay’s Bairavaa had its release confirmed. A sense of congenial relationship between both the teams made them for pretty good decisions in scheduling the release dates.
Sabaash Naidu/Vishwaroopam 2
Kamal Haasan’s Sabaash Naidu has been going through whole lots of tough phase from Day 1. The unexpected sickness of filmmaker Rajeev Kumar and Kamal Haasan’s multiple fractures on legs. Now that doctors have advised him for complete rest, he has kick-started the post-production works of Vishwaroopam 2. So it will be one postponement and a preponed surprise from Kamal Haasan.
This Superstar Rajinikanth-Akshay Kumar starrer ‘2.0’ is directed by Shankar, who happens to be one of the highly expensive filmmakers of Indian film fraternity. It was officially confirmed before few months from Lyca Productions that it would be hitting screens for Diwali 2017. In fact, it carried a perfect tag of 3Diwali release as the movie is releasing in 3D, but now it has been postponed tentatively to January 25, 2018.
This is a real big surprise to all Vijay fans. The film was tentatively scheduled up for 2018 Pongal release, but then with the official word on 2.0 postponements made, the very next minute update was made that Vijay 61. Yes, it’s astonishing news to see that the film will be hitting screens in October 2017, precisely for Diwali.
The film has been remaining inside cans for a very long time. JSK Film Corporation had made a strong confirmation that the movie will be hitting screens for Pongal 2017, but was cancelled on the spur of moment due to some financial issues and settlements with other distributors and exhibitors. The issues pertaining to the movie release still remains to be unresolved.
The producers at 24AM Studios made a strong word of confirmation that Velaikkaran starring Sivakarthikeyan and Nayantara in lead roles will be hitting screens for festive occasion of Vinayaga Chathurthi (August 25), but is now postponed to September 29 for Dussera due to some reasons. It is cited that some distributors and exhibitors had requested RD Raja of 24AM Studios to prefer this latter date.
