Vishnu Vishal seems to have clearly understood the scenarios that comedy capers would take him to more crowds. Thanks to Velainu Vandhutta Velaikkaran, which wasn’t received well with the critics, but took a storming show in box office? When you’re watching the theatrical trailer of Kathanayagan, you tend to notice same traces. Be it the colour of the frame or the trailer cuts, it completely brings forth a similar appeal.

Talking about the actors, we are completely assured that it’s going to be a full swing comedy caper. Maybe at few places, we aren’t able to really tickle up our funny bones. Say for instance, the joke from Soori involving the mindsets of women, but maybe, the full feature in theatres might bring up few more enjoyable humour episodes.

But the greatest highlight is Vijay Sethupathi appearing with a different rejuvenated look. The funniest part is the dialogues that he utters to Vishnu Vishal, which might be regarded as serious. But it looks like there is hilarious peck involved that can be witnessed only in theatres.

Catherine Tresa recreating her witty lines with Karthi during ‘Aagayam’ song in Madras over here is not that funny.

The musical part by Sean Roldan is good. The drama involving Anand Raj as comedy villain will not bore us though.

Overall, Kathanayagan looks like a time pass movie that will live up to the expectations, as of analyzed with the trailer.
