Velaikkaran Teaser Review

Keeping the anticipation levels to a bigger paradigm, Sivakarthikeyan’s Velaikkaran gets the first look teaser unveiled now on the eve of Independence Day. The 52-sec running length amazes us in many places. The earnest appraisal should be rendered upon Ramji, who seems to have skipped his usual pattern of cinematography. When you happen to watch the cinematographic tone of Sepia, one might imagine, it could be either the newcomers into the league or someone like George C Williams. But then, it surprises completely with this tone. The picturing of the shots is the major strength and one could bluntly believe that entire film will be carried on his shoulders.

Yet another brilliant flash of points with the film’s teaser is that it reveals all the characters, except for Sneha. We happen to see that most of the teasers of new films are nothing but self-aggrandizing visuals of heroes, where we don’t get to see what the basic premise of this film is all about and then need to wait till the full length theatrical trailer.

Nice to see Fahadh Faasil herein Tamil cinema. The scene where he hugs Sivakarthikeyan by the end of teaser faintly reminds us of a similar shot of him along with Mammootty in Immanuel…

The background score by Anirudh is routinely good. Nayantara is attempted to be shown with beautiful looks and Prakash Raj is back to a vintage transformation.

Overall, it looks like Sivakarthikeyan wants to get into the zone of A-league Tamil heroes, who fight for the rights of people (Onscreen).
