A unbelievable deed of director Sridhar – A must read for wannabe directors

There were times in the Tamil film industry, where the domination of producers and actors were to extremity. It gradually went through an oceanic change through the entry of veteran late filmmaker Sridhar. He embarked on a journey that completely enthralled audiences beyond boundaries. The films like Amara Deepam, Uthamaputhiran, Raththa Paasam and many more that are still regarded as the evergreen classical hits of Indian film maps. He successfully offered stupendous hits with MGR, Sivaji Ganesan and many more leading actors. In fact, he was pioneer to bring forth a new line of cinema with love stories.

There happened to be a particular situation in his life, where he was shooting with Sivaji Ganesan in Paris for the film ‘Sivandha Mann’ (1968). During this shoot, he got shocking news that his mother passed away. But feeling that his break from the shoot would result in shot discontinuities, he didn’t make his way for mother’s funeral. He took part in the film’s shooting to make sure that the investments of producers and team hard work doesn’t go in vain.
