These days, competitions have become a much aggressive thing among the actors. In spite of having a good friendship in real life, the competency keeps going ahead in terms of profession. Yes, we do see that certain actors make a good bonding by playing cameo in movies of other’s actor. But here is one such illustration, where the crowds thronged and celebrated at theatres to see the cameo of a Telugu superstar in our very own superstar’s movie.

This is all about 1989 hit movie ‘Mappillai’, directed by Rajashekar. The film featured Rajinikanth, Amala and Sri Vidya in lead roles. It was a commercial hit film and the expectations were bigger than before the release. This was mainly because of the superstar status of Rajinikanth. Especially, when Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi made his cameo, it became much more spectacular. Although, both of them in 1981 had shared the screen space in the film Raanuva Veeran, they weren’t superstars at that point of time. Apparently, when everyone thought that Superstars will have a clash between them, they broke such vibes and made it happen.

The film is produced by none other than Allu Aravind (Geetha Arts), brother-in-law of Chiranjeevi and father of Allu Arjun.

The film had a successful run of 200 days in theatres with 900+ continuous houseful shows.
