It’s been a tug of war between Tamil and Bollywood industry, when it comes to introducing newfangled technological aspects. Moreover, Tamil film industry has always been ahead of times. While Kamal Haasan has always been spearheading with the technological brilliance, it looks like Jayam Ravi and his brother Mohan Raja, who have been deeply inspired by the legend had imparted this technological creation. In the duo’s film ‘Thillalangadi’, there happens to be a particular song ‘Solpechu Ketkaadha Sundari’, where we get to see lots of Jayam Ravi images in a single frame.
It is the first ever time, Nero Motion Control Camera that revolves around a 360-degree angle was used in a Tamil cinema. It is worth mentioning that Bollywood’s remake of ‘Ghajini’ had the same cinematography used by Ravi K Chandran for a song ‘Bekha’ that featured Aamir Khan and Asin.
In fact, this was the first time in Indian film industry, such a technique was handled. It’s really proud to see that a Tamil technician had imparted such efforts. After few years, the same technique was used in STR’s Poda Podi for the song ‘Love Panlaama Vendama’, but only for small portion.
