Tamil cinema owns the special highlight of possessing the mixed bag of genres into a single film. It has indeed worked out the best results for the commercial aspects. In particular, irrespective of what a major premise is, ‘Comedy’ has been an inevitable element.
Be it a suspense-thriller or action drama, comedy portions have been immensely added up. In mid of 2000s, the leading actors started having their prominence of performing humour by themselves and this includes Vikram and Madhavan. But their movies ‘Kadhal Sadugudu’ and ‘Run’ actually didn’t demand for the screen presence of Vivek.
But, his portions were separately included in the script. In ‘Run’, we actually see only one shot of Madhavan and Vivek together and in Vikram’s movie, not much they share the screen space. In spite of being parallel track, the comedy sequences in these movies worked because of the social context and the crisis that Vivek handled with the blend of humour.
