It happens that the entire movie sometimes, might be a routine normal story, but the surprising opening sequence would definitely throw up ultimate intensity to keep us hooked upon the screens to see what’s going to happen next. Here are 5 certain movies that had tremendous introduction scenes that kept us guessing at least for the next 20 minutes on what it could have been all about.
Aayutha Ezhuthu – The hyperlink storyline features three parallel episodes all getting converged at the point of Napier Bridge on a fine day morning. Well, the expectations for this Mani Rathnam’s magnum opus Aayutha Ezhuthu was pretty groovy, especially with a huge star-cast of Suriya, Madhavan and Siddarth coming together. Moreover, the opening scene with all these three actors together with Esha Deol and Trisha happening together, the theatres got surprised, particularly with Madhavan triggering bullets on Suriya.
Billa 2 – The visual promos carrying the punch dialogue of Ajith Kumar ‘En Vaazhkaila Ovvovoru Naalum, Ovvovoru Nimishamum, Yen Ovvovru Nodiyum, Naana Sedhukunadhu’. But none anticipated that it would be the opening scene in this movie, where theatres turned to be thundered with unbelievable applause and whistles.
Kaakha Kaakha – Gautham Vasudev Menon is always known for placing the best songs at the best placement. The album got stunningly captivated for the song ‘Uyirin Uyire’, where it was the anthem of youth by those times. To see Suriya being shot down into the lake bed followed by the song with Jyotika getting into picture, that was amazingly emotional.
Kaththi – It was a huge curiosity for Vijay fans to know whether it’s a film of double act. But what became a surprise by the beginning was the opening scene, where we see Vijay escaping from prison in Kolkata. Of course, the suspense gets revealed few minutes from the drama.
Raavanan – Mani Rathnam comes yet again for this reference, where the opening scene has multiple montages and suddenly we see Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is kidnapped by Vikram. This keeps us wondering on what it is all about although we had a clear idea about the film being influenced by the mythological tale of Ramayana.
