After ‘Jumanji’, from the trailer of ‘Skyscraper ‘, Dwayne Johnson also known as ‘Rock’ who always has a body to give a tough and tight punches in all his movies how much ever he gets old, is expected to create a different approach through the emotional family sentiments with a mix of adventure, filled with lot more of jumping and hanging stunts in this movie. Will those expectations create a different approach in Dwayne’s character in this movie? Will the 2D VFX impress the audience? Whether it gives a new experience?

Beginning with the snow falling scene in a mission to catch the criminal, Will Sawyer, a former FBI Hostage Rescue Team Leader loses his leg. He then continues to live happily by fitting the prosthetic artificial leg attachment, loving his wife Sarah with his two kids Georgia and Henry. After several years they move to Hong Kong such that they stay in the world’s tallest super skyscraper which is 3,500 feet - 225 stories tall which is constructed in such a way it has highest security systems with lots of technological safety systems. The building which is also known as ‘The Pearl’ is built by Zhao Long Ji. Long owns the tracking information of the financiers in a memory card which values tremendous funds. The Botha terrorist team fires the building in order to access the memory card from Long.

Sawyer who knows to access the security systems of the building is then trapped in this dispute in which his family will be in the skyscraper believing that the ignition won’t fire above 96th floor of the building. Accessing to the top, crossing the 96th floor, the Botha gang tries to destroy the gigantic structure. On the other hand, Police thinks that Sawyer is the one who accesses the security systems to destroy the super structure. How Sawyer breaks the assumption of Police about him? Will he save his family from the destruction? Whether he will save the mega structure from destruction makes the climax!

Analyzing the movie, ‘the Pearl’, the mega structure can also be stated as the hero of the movie. The work of Production Designer Jim Bissell and the VFX is abruptly proved by making us visualize the gigantic huge structure on screens. Making us sit in the corner of the seats, the gripping and jumping sequences of Rock slightly flips us to remind ‘Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol’ with a mix of family emotions and love. Whereas the idea having the mega structure as the main aspect of the movie, is unique compared to all other movies. The artificial popping of mirrior-ish glasses and transparent flooring to see the below earth from terrible height, is stated to be an extra new effort in presentation of the movie.

On the whole, this movie can stated to be a mix of action, love with usual expecting sequences of rescuing the family from the large ignited skyscraper will make us remain at the edge of the seats.
