Based on the true story of head of the ISRO’s Cryogenics Division, Nambi Narayanan, Madhavan (Maddy) who has previously rocking as a cop in ‘Vikram vedha’ has been on board for ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ which has been directed by ‘Aksar’ and ‘Dil Maange More!!!’ fame screenwriter, actor, and director, Anant Mahadevan and jointly bankrolled by Tricolour Films, Varghese Moolan Pictures and Saffron Ganesha Entertainment. Anant who has been featured in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Papanasam’ and ‘Viswaroopam 2’ previously has been worked on the epic life story of Nambi Narayanan.
Portraying the life story of scientist Nambi from age 27 to 75 years who was arrested in 1994 for allegedly trading India’s space secrets to Pakistan for scouting the cryogenic technology to propel the space programme to greater heights, Madhavan has been reprising Nambi’s role who has also been kept and tortured in police custody for 50 days. When CBI was handling the case, it has been closed due to no proper evidence against him was acquired from the investigation. Almost 24 years later, the Supreme Court had given a judgment ordering to the Kerala Government to reward with Rs.50 Lakhs as compensation to the scientist.
When Madhavan announced about the trailer release of this movie, he has shared that, “We are determined to do justice to the extraordinary life of ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan. He is one of the many unsung heroes of our country who deserves to be anointed with a worthy film. And I can’t think of anyone more qualified than my friend Ananth Mahadevan. He has researched Narayanan’s life thoroughly before getting down to making the film.”
The trailer of this trilingual movie (Tamil, Hindi and English) has been premiered in YouTube with a countdown at 11.33 PM today and has been buzzing out with appreciations and wishes to the team for the prideful venture. Further it has been stated that the team is planning to release the movie by April or May 2019.
