How many movies to wing through on screens this week?

‘Thuppakki Munai’, ‘Johny’, ‘Thulam’, ‘Odiyan’, ‘Prabha’, ‘Bayangaramaana Aalu’, ‘Thiru’, ‘Aqua Man’ and ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ are releasing on screens this week.

Generally letting the readers about the number of movie releases every week, this week has several movie releases which can be listed as follows –

1) ‘Thuppakki Munai’ –

Directed by Dinesh Selvaraj and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu’s ‘V creations’, the cast of ‘Thuppakki Munai’ involves Vikram Prabhu, Hansika Motwani, M. S. Bhaskar and Vela Ramamoorthy in prominent roles. Stated to have the story of an encounter specialist, cinematography for this movie is handled by Rasamathi and editing is done by Bhuvan Srinivasan. Music for this thriller is composed by L V Muthu Ganesh.

2) ‘Johny’ –

Bankrolled by Prashanth’s father, Thiagarajan under the banner of ‘Staar Movies’, ‘Johny’ stars Prashanth, Prabhu, Sanchita Shetty, Anandaraj, Ashutosh Rana, Sayaji Shinde, Aathma Patrick, Jayakumar, Kalairani, Devadarshini and many other actors for important roles. Directed by Pa Vetriselvan, the story for ‘Johny’ has been written by Sriram Raghavan with the camera handled by M V Panneerselvam. Editing is done by Shiva Saravanan. Added to this, Prashanth has worked on the VFX for ‘Johny’ whereas the music is composed by Ranjan Durairaj. After the release of ‘Saagasam’, this suspense thriller of Prashanth is much expected on screens. Just like ‘Thuppakki Munai’, ‘Johny’ is also hitting the screens on December 14th.

3) ‘Thulam’ –

Directed by the debut director Vijay Vikas, ‘Thulam’ involves the cast with the debut faces Nivadh and Jayashree for lead roles along with Mano Bala, Bala Singh and many other actors for important roles. Kolanji Kumar, Alex and Premnath are the other new faces playing prominent roles in the movie. Stated to explain the fact that ‘Innocent people should not be punished’, ‘Thulam’ is hitting on screens from December 14th.

4) ‘Odiyan’ –

Starring Mohanlal, Prakash Raj, Manju Warrier, Innocent, Siddique, Manoj Joshi and many other actors for vital roles, ‘Odiyan’ has been directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon and produced by Antony Perumbavoor’s ‘Aashirvad Cinemas’. Camera handled by Shaji Kumar, editing for this fantasy thriller is done by Johnkutty. Music and background score for this movie is played by M. Jayachandran and Sam C. S. Releasing directly in Malayalam, ‘Odiyan’ is dubbed in Tamil. After the releases of ‘Kayamkulam Kochunni’ and ‘Drama’, Mohanlal’s ‘Odiyan’ is much expected on screens in both Malayalam and Tamil.

5) ‘Aquaman’ –

Directed by Writer of ‘The Nun’ i.e., by James Wan, ‘Aquaman’ is bankrolled under the banners of ‘Warner Bros. Pictures’, ‘DC Films’, ‘The Safran Company’, ‘Cruel and Unusual Films’ and ‘Mad Ghost Productions’, starring Jason Momoa, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman in vital roles. Background score for this DC comics character film is composed by Rupert Gregson Williams. Cinematography and editing for this superhero 3D movie is done by Don Burgess and Kirk Morri respectively.

6) ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ –

Based on the story of a fictional comic book, ‘Miles Morales’ written by Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, the comic animated movie, ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ is bankrolled by ‘Columbia Pictures’ , ‘Sony Pictures Animation’ and ‘Marvel Entertainment’ and directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey and Rodney Rothman. Starring Shameik Moore, Jake Johnson, Hailee Stenfield, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry and many other actors, background music for this movie is done by ‘Daniel Pemberton’. The story and the screenplay for this animation movie are penned by Phil Lord and Rodney Rothman respectively.

Further the movies like ‘Prabha’, ‘Bayangaramaana Aalu’ and ‘Thiru’ are stated to be released on screens this week which has been announced through advertisements.
