Having many legendary actors in Kollywood, the actor whom the whole Indian Cinema looks upon as a symbol of desperation and hard work with great attention for many years is ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram. If we look into the depth about him, we only get to know the enormous amount of hard work, dedication and efforts he put in every character he owe in each and every film he acts. Not only as an actor, but also he had been proving his talents at several instances since he was a model, dubbing artist, singer and also when he had played supporting roles in his earlier stages of film career. Giving variations and by setting up a strong path Vikram has been travelling in film journey so desperately even if his career had great ups and downs. Tipping his toes in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films, Vikram has been an ever shining ‘star’ how much ever the trend changes competing with actors irrespective of any age with the absolute charming, cool and stylish attitude and changeovers in getups.

So the remarkable ones that made everyone of us know and realize Vikram as a ‘star’ on screens, has started off significantly with the appearance in the TV serial, ‘Galatta Kudumbam’ (1988) which had been telecasted in ‘Doordarshan’ and also ‘Siragugal’ (2000). Turning to be a dubbing artist in Ajith’s first film ‘Amaravathi’ (1993) and in ‘Paasamalargal’ (1994), for Abbas in the films like ‘Kadhal Desam’ (1996), ‘VIP’(1997), ‘Poochudava’(1997), ‘Aasai Thambi’(1998), ‘Ini Ellam Sugame’(1998) and ‘Kandukondain Kandukondain’(2000), Vikram’s career has started with familiarity with his voice.

In a while, he had been known also for singing songs and giving voiceovers in the films like ‘Shree’ and ‘Gemini’ in the year 2002, ‘Kanthaswamy’ (2009), ‘Madrasapattinam’ (2010), ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ (2011), ‘Rajapattai’ (2011), ‘David’ (2013), ‘Sketch’ (2018) and lastly in the film ‘Saamy Square’ (2018) singing the song “Pudhu Metro Rail…”

Without giving a rest on the aim to get recognized and as a trendsetter, Vikram has then tilted into acting in silver screen such that by getting introduced by Director T.J. Joy through the film ‘En Kadhal Kanmani’ which was released in the year 1990. Then after peeping into some more Tamil movies, he had started up in Mollywood by playing alongside as a supporting actor in Mammootty starrer ‘Dhruvam’ (1993). Next to that, he had also set phase in Tollywood through the film ‘Chirunavvula Varamistava’ (1993) which was written and directed by N. H. Chandra. Familiarized through ‘Ullaasam’ (1997), Vikram has been known as a budding star such that the graph of his career remained very light until with the boom in his performance through Director Bala’s ‘Sethu’ (1999). Then on carefully concentrating on the character oriented films we had set a benchmark through the back to back hits of ‘Dhill’ (2001), ‘Kasi’ (2001), ‘Gemini’ (2001), ‘Dhool’ (2003), ‘Saamy’ (2003) whereas the sudden transition in his performances has been hiked to different level through the films, ‘Pithamagan’ (2003). However ‘Anniyan’ movie had been a proof making us fall in love with the innocence of ‘Ambi’ character and to cool on with mesmerizing style of ‘Remo’ character without missing out to get scared by ‘Anniyan’ character, Vikram had shown great variation in the looks with a beautiful transgender getup and as a stylish IPS officer in ‘Kanthaswamy’ which had released in 2009. Further his performance had also boosted up giving strong impact on characterizations in the movies like ‘Raavanan’ (2010), ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ (2011), ‘I’ (2015), ‘Irumugam’ (2016) and ‘Saamy Square’ (2018).

Anyway the upcoming movies which include ‘Dhruva Natchathiram’ directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon and Director Rajesh M Selva’s ‘Kadaram Kondan’ is still making his die-hard fans to expect more of his stylish looks and versatile acting. Further on this occasion of his birthday from the wishes which poured to him it seems like it is the long lasting desire of every movie buff who admires Chiyaan to wish him to carry on the same journey in experimenting with the roles and characters he play as an endless endeavor with good health and heart.
