How many films are dashing out on theatres this week?

‘Lisaa’, ‘Neeya 2’, ‘Oviyavai Vitta Yaru’ (Seeni), ‘Vakiba’, ‘Owdatham’, ‘India's Most Wanted’, ‘PM Narendra Modi’ and ‘Aladdin’ are releasing on screens this week.

Usually listing out the number of movie releases every week, this week has 8 movies dashing out one another on theatres. The list of movies is as follows -

1) ‘Lisaa’ –

Bankrolled under the banner of Cinematographer P G Muthiah’s ‘P G Media Works’, ‘Lisaa’ is a 3D horror film which is directed by Raju Viswanath involving Anjali, Sam Jones, Yogi Babu, ‘Mime’ Gopi and Makarand Deshpande in the important roles. Music composed by Santhosh Dhayanidhi, cinematography is handled by P G Muthiah whereas editing for ‘Lisaa’ is done by S N Fasil.

2) ‘Neeya 2’ –

After ‘Eththan’, Director L Suresh has been involving Jai, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Raai Laxmi and Catherine Tresa in the important characters for the horror movie, ‘Neeya 2’. Bankrolled by Sridhar Arunachalam’s ‘Jumbo Cinemas’, the music for ‘Neeya 2’ is composed by Shabir. Already pushed with many postponements in the release, ‘Neeya 2’ is releasing on May 24th such that the cinematography and editing of this snake thriller is done by Rajavel Mohan and Gopi Krishna respectively.

3) ‘Oviyavai Vitta Yaru’ (Seeni) –

Directed by C Raja Durai and bankrolled by ‘Velammal Cine Creation’, ‘Oviyavai Vitta Yaru’ which had the title ‘Seeni’ previously stars ‘Bigg Boss’ fame Oviya and Sanjeevi Senthil in prominent roles. Stated to have a genre of romantic drama, this film which is releasing on May 24th, involves the musical composition of Srikanth Deva and the camera handling of EK Nagarajan.

4) ‘Vakiba’ –

Directed by ‘Kalabha Kadhalan’ fame Igore, ‘Vakiba’ involves the new faces Manish Ajith & Vijay Karan in the lead roles. Along with them, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ Mahendran, Kanja Karuppu and A Venkatesh will be seen in supportive roles in this film which prominently talks about the changes which common man faces in his life due to caste issues. With the musical composition of Mujeep Rahman, the cinematography of ‘Vakiba’ is handled by Sakthivel.

5) ‘Owdatham’ –

Bankrolled by ‘RED CHILLY BLACK PEPPER CINEMAS’, Producer Netaji has directed, written the story and screenplay for the medical crime thriller ‘Owdatham’ in which he had also acted as the lead actor. With the dialogues of Ramani, the cinematography and editing of this thriller is done by Sriranjan Rao and Ramasamy. Music for ‘Owdatham’ is composed by Tashi.

6) ‘India's Most Wanted’ –

After ‘Namaste England’ and appearing in a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Zero’, Arjun Kapoor’s ‘India’s Most Wanted’ directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and produced by ‘Fox Star Studios’ & ‘Raapchik Films’, stars Amrita Puri, Rajesh Sharma, Prashanth Alexander, Shantilal Mukherjee, Devendra Mishra and many others for the prominent roles. With the musical composition of Amit Trivedi, the cinematography and editing of this action film is done by Dudley and Bodhaditya Banerjee respectively. Much expected on the action look of Arjun Kapoor, ‘India's Most Wanted’ is releasing in theatres on May 24th.

7) ‘PM Narendra Modi’ –

In the season of making biopic films in India, Kangna Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ in Hindi and ‘N.T.R: Kathanayakudu’ in Telugu has been challenging with the making and also with the descent welcoming on screens during the releases. On the other hand, Anupam Kher starrer ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ which is directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, featuring familiarities of many real life political leaders, had been released earlier such that the biopic of the present PM Narendra Modi has the popular Bollywood face, Vivek Oberoi who has been featured lastly in Ajith’s ‘Vivegam’, will be reprising the role of PM along with Manoj Joshi. Titled as ‘PM Narendra Modi’ directed by Omung Kumar and produced under the banners of ‘Legend Global Studio’ & ‘Anand Pandit Motion Pictures’, the music for the biopic is composed by Hitesh Modak, Shashi-Khushi and A. R. Rahman. Cinematography handled by Sunita Radia, editing is done by Sanjay Sankla.

Added to this, this biopic film which is releasing on May 24th seems to have incidents from the teenage of Modi continuing till the present.

8) ‘Aladdin’ –

Directed by ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ and produced under the banners of ‘Walt Disney Pictures’, ‘Rideback’ & ‘Marc Platt Productions’, ‘Aladdin’ stars Will Smith as ‘Genie’, Mena Massoud, Naomi Scott, Marwan Kenzari, Navid Negahban and many others in the prominent roles. However there is a great fan following for Will Smith in India, with the dubbing of actress Andrea Jeremiah in Tamil for Naomi Scott and with the voice of actress Venkatesh for Will Smith in Telugu, Kollywood and Tollywood versions are expected so much in screens on May 24th. With the musical composition of Alan Menken, the cinematography and editing for this romantic fantasy is done by Alan Stewart and James Herbert respectively.
