After basking from the success of ‘Kanaa’, Siva Karthikeyan has been collaborating with the YouTube channel ‘Black Sheep’ team along with Rio Raj and Shirin Kanchwala in the prominent roles for the film ‘Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja’. Let’s see how this ‘Jolly to do’ movie has worked with the cool team on screens with a brief review!

Shiva and Vicky roam around like irresponsible youngsters having a YouTube Channel and also by doing prank shows with public! However they depend on the money sponsored from Shiva’s brother who works hard in a pharmacy for the sake of his brother Shiva, they get to meet a millionaire ‘Jippakaaran’ (Radha Ravi) in an instance such that by seeing their naughty pranks, the millionaire’s henchman starts to follow them. As a result of that, they get a chance to become rich by the millionaire who wants them to perform 3 tasks with gentlemen agreement of giving lakhs and lakhs of money as a return and the condition is to do all the 3 tasks perfectly without jumping out in between incase of hard challenges. What happens next? Will they perform all the three tasks successfully? What is the motto of the millionaire in making them perform the tasks will be revealed with the climax spreading ‘positivity’ in ‘Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja’!

Giving a chance to prove the positive fun element that ‘Black Sheep’ YouTube channel had in Internet, as a producer Siva Karthikeyan seems to have given a rising hand for Rio Raj which was the same formula he used in the early stages of his film career. However there had been a message spread very wide only in the end which is actually late, the screenplay created by Karthik Venugopalan has been armature but with so much of diversion with a mix match of ideas with romance, politics, emotions etc.,. However the crew is majorly from the virtue of ‘YouTube’ media, the aspect which media see a murder or a death as a ‘news’ is implied but with the diversion of comedy in the beginning. Apart from that, some comedy instances are predictable and are usual such that RJ Vignesh’s sequences looked slightly laid back with usual body language and dialogues. Technically moving forward, the cinematography seemed descent whereas editing and music looks like it would have been helping out the delivery of the strong message if it had some more power and freshness.

Starting off with a big step into films as a debutant through this film, the TV face Rio Raj has performed decently trying out some of the wits which Siva Karthikeyan had tried in his early stages of film career. However some portions were not satisfied with the comedy sequences of RJ Vignesh, the attempt had been keeping entertained throughout the film. Adding up more beauty for the screen, Shirin Kanchwala has been also extremely gorgeous and also performed well. Seeing him so far in comedy instances, Chutti Aravind has performed well indulging the serious emotions in the film. The portions that Nanjil Sampath appears had been really funny and actually genuine which proves the facts about the politicians in the present day.

What works?

1) Message conveyed

2) Nanjil Sampath’s comedy sequences

3) Cinematography

What doesn’t work?

1) So much diversions in the scripting

2) Music and editing

3) Logic mistakes

On the whole, ‘Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja’ is a ‘Jolly to watch’ film which is obviously for time passing and also it can be considered as a different attempt in experimenting various genres by the bankrolling banner.
