After ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Baahubali 2’, the long-awaited ‘Saaho’ had been much expected on screens with a great eagerness not only in Tollywood but also in world cinema because of the great budget which is over 350 crores approximately. So! We will see how ‘Saaho’ had been performing on screens after the release.
Waaji city is controlled by Roy and family. Also, many stakeholders are involved in business dealings of Roy with a great grudge on him to achieve the powerful throne. However, Roy’s son (Arun Vijay) comes and acquires the throne after Roy’s unexpected demise, the ‘black box’ which is like the main key to open the locker for billions and billions of invested money of stalk holders, is hidden in India. On the other hand, Police are also looking for the black box to be taken from the hidden place and to prevent the attack of Roy’s group in India. Will the Police take the black box first or Roy’s son will take it and prove about him to be the right person to head Roy Group of Companies after Roy, is the story of ‘Saaho’!
Having twists which are overboard than expectations, the screenplay till the first half moves smooth with a mix of action, romance and drama a bit whereas the second half for the rush to have the throne and prove the identity of Roy’s son (Arun Vijay / Prabhas) had been the only story. Hope Sujeeth at least knows what the purpose is for all such action, romance songs, and powerful stunts! At last Sujeeth had really made it difficult to search for the story and to review it! It would have been better if the screenplay had been descent without the purposeful stunts with lots of irritating gunshots, grand romance songs, and a proper story. Cinematography and background score seems ok whereas Editing and DI seem very worse to have the exact mood of the film.
Coming to the performance part, over-exaggerated roles for the lead i.e., to Prabhas and Shraddha since Prabhas had been holding his chest to always show his power without any point (it’s a bad idea for him. Oops, we went only the ‘performance’!) whereas Shraddha seemed just similar to the character she played in ‘Half Girlfriend’ movie. Arun Vijay seemed to be ok but passive, actors like Lal, Mandira Bedi, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Jackie Shroff and Murali Sharma had performed neatly.
On the whole, ‘Saaho’ is not so much powerful with the ‘wow’ factor which was expected because of the weak screenplay and story.
‘Saaho’ is one and only for action but with no use of such 350 crores!
