As we all know, actor Karthi is one of the happening actors not only in Kollywood but also in Tollywood in recent times, his film ‘Kaithi’ (‘Khaidi’ in Telugu) is much expected on screens during the festive season of the year 2019. However, he is the second son of the veteran actor Siva Kumar and also stepped into the film industry as an assistant director by working along with ace director Mani Ratnam, his kick start as an actor through the film ‘Paruthiveeran’ directed by Ameer had been a bang which also symbolizes to be the best as a startup in his acting career. Anyways, his films seem to be with lots of variation and experimentations in characters as well as in genres, most of the filmmakers who had worked their second films with Karthi had been facing the life-changing success from then. Lining up them one by one, the directors who are right now basking with success in the limelight are as follows-
1) Suseenthiran (Naan Maahan Alla) –
Setting entry through the sports film ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’, Suseenthiran had directed the action-drama thriller and his second film ‘Naan Maahan Alla’ which was a great success because of the screenplay with the practical story of a middle-class youngster and also with soothing music. Next to this film, Suseenthiran then worked with Appukutty in ‘Azhagarsamiyin Kudhirai’ and in the same year, he worked and had the release of ‘Chiyaan’ Vikram’s ‘Rajapattai’ which was with a decent response.
2) Pa. Ranjith (Madras) –
Been familiar through his debut film ‘Attakathi’ by having Dinesh, Nandita Swetha, Aishwarya Rajesh in lead roles, Pa. Ranjith had directed his second film ‘Madras’ which was completely raw and focused on the realistic political incidents happening in the interior areas of North Madras. Playing the role of ‘Kaali’, Karthi had absolutely given a variation with his performance through the character of an IT Professional living in dilapidated flats of the housing board. After directing Karthi, Pa. Ranjith’s luck in directing career had traveled to ‘Kabali’ which had Rajinikanth as the lead actor. We don’t have to mention the hype and views the teaser of ‘Kabali’ had been showering high when it got released on May 1st, 2016 which was an obvious proof for the success of the director.
3) M. Muthaiah (Komban) –
Introduced as a debutant through the film ‘Kutti Puli’ which involved Sasi Kumar and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles, Director M. Muthaiah had been familiar through his second film ‘Komban’ which had Karthi and Lakshmi Menon in the lead roles. However, M. Muthaiah is known for having the village-style nativity in all his films, ‘Komban’ made him get more recognized in his career by lifting him to the next level for directing Vishal in the film ‘Marudhu’ which had decent success.
4) H Vinoth (Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru) –
Taking up the raw and rustic action thriller ‘Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru’ which had the portrayal of nefarious activity of dacoits and its eventual containment by Tamil Nadu police with Karthi playing the role of a cop after ‘Sathuranga Vettai’, H Vinoth had a great bask into the film industry through his second film with Karthi as the lead which was then continued in remaking the sensational Bollywood film ‘Pink’ with the title ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ and with the bankrolling of Boney Kapoor’s ‘Bay View Films LLP’. Followed by this, H Vinoth is once again joining hands with Thala and the same production banner of Boney Kapoor which has also been a great topic in K-Town at present.
5) Lokesh Kanagaraj (Kaithi) –
Stated often to be the man who had given a different dimension in film making with his first hyperlink film ‘Maanagaram’, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj is now awaiting the release of his second film ‘Kaithi’ this Diwali which is bankrolled with the banner of SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu’s ‘Dream Warrior Pictures’ and ‘Vivekananda Pictures’ such that this remains as his second film by having Karthi as the lead. Followed by this, Lokesh is going ahead with his third film ‘Thalapathu 64’ with Vijay in the lead role which had been the great sensation at the present buzz in the Kollywood circles.
6) Bakkiyaraj Kannan (Sulthan) –
Familiar through the romantic film ‘Remo’, we knew Director Bakkiyaraj Kannan had been directing Karthi, Rashmika Mandanna and Lal in the prominent roles in the upcoming film ‘Sulthan’ such that this film seems to be his second film in his directing career. However, Karthi is on board for this film which has the bankrolling of SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu’s ‘Dream Warrior Pictures’, it seems like Bakkiyaraj’s third film might turn to be a luck for having still more big star through the angel luck passed from his second film’s hero.
Anyways, ‘Kaithi’ is now ready to blast out on screens on October 25th; Vijay’s ‘Bigil’ is also getting prepped up as a release on the same during this Diwali occasion. However, the complete Kollywood seems to welcome ‘Bigil’ as the first film with great expectation because of the star cast and the hype created, ‘Kaithi’ is seen as a second film by the audience, theatre owners and distributors which also looks like a stroke of luck by symbolizing for the success of the film and the actor Karthi with the ‘lucky number 2’.
