As we all know Vijay Devarkonda as an actor so far, this ‘Rowdy’ guy has ventured into production through his maiden banner ‘Vijay Devarkonda Production’ such that he had joined hands in making a director i.e., Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam (The man behind ‘Pelli Choopulu’) into a lead actor through the film ‘Meeku Maathrame Cheptha’. Let us see what this combo of Actor-Producer and Director-Actor had said any secret in the film or not!
Kamesh narrates the story of Rakesh about the scandal video which has been going viral just a couple of days before Rakesh’s marriage to his friends while he comes to play cricket by starting off from the moment how Rakesh fell in love with Steffy till the suspense of whether Steffy knows about his video or not.
Coming to the analysis of the story and screenplay, Director Shammeer Sultan had tried his maximum to engage the audience with more comedy and twists in the first half. Also, no lots of romance, action and so much of commercial elements except comedy is quite impressive when we compare this film to the recent list of dark comedy films. And the thrill ride was so much satisfying in the first half which is appreciative. Next in the second half, there were very minute lags in between with a small journey and the rush to the wedding reception which disappeared slowly while approaching towards the climax. Thank God! The way the film got to end up with a twist which will remind all of our close friends who spreads our secrets outside (which was nostalgic). Technically, the cinematography, editing and also a very light background score seemed descent throughout the film.
While looking into the performance, Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam and Abhinav Gomatam had been sharing more space in the screen by revealing comedy, chaos, thrill and many other fun elements but the ladies seem little below the line since the characterizations were very light. However, Vani Bhojan, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Avantika Mishra were more prominently adding on spice to the screens with their looks, other supporting actors had also performed well.
On the whole, ‘Meeku Maathrame Cheptha’ is a decent dark comedy film of this year which can be watched to simply laugh out if you are in a very bad mood.
‘Meeku Maathrame Cheptha’ is all about the absolute fun-filled ride with the reveal of the most delicate secret of a friend!
